Serenaded...

So this morning on the way to work I was listening to my mom's new Sugarland CD (she let me borrow it) and this song comes on and I truely felt like God was serenading me!! It was as if he wrote this song and set it up for me to hear it at the perfect moment...just when I needed to hear it!! Here is part of the lyrics to this song:

When the weight of the world bears down so strong
You leave footprints on the street
And there's too many miles to face
Without a few more hours sleep
The storm clouds overhead won't shed
Any rain to quench your thirst
I wanna be the one you reach for first

When your faith is stretched so thin
That you can see straight through your soul
And you can't find a nickel to buy a smile
Cause your pockets all got holes
You wanna shut the door and hide
Before the day can get much worse
I wanna be the one you reach for first

Fall into me
My arms are open wide
And you don't have to say a word
Cause I already see
That it's hard and you're scared
And you're tired and it hurts
And I wanna be the one you reach for first...

Wow - what a cool message to get from God:)!!
Also - like everyone else I have been tagged:) Here are my 6 facts about myself that most people don't know:)

*Me and Max sleep snuggled together every night:)! I know it's a bad habit, but with all the craziness going on in our lives - sometimes I think it is our way of "clinging" to some sort of comfort and stability...He wraps his arm around my neck and when I wake in the morning I am always pushed to the very edge of the bed with half my body hanging off the bed:)!

*I am obsessed with pancakes covered in peanut butter and syrup. I could seriously eat them for every meal!! Actually...I think there was one day when I did eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner:) oopps!!!!

*I was in gymnastics for several years - could do all the flips and junk like that:) It was so much fun and there are so many times where I just want to do a random backhandspring out of nowhere - but I know I would probably throw my back out:)!! Ha ha!!

*Max is named after Gil's grandmother, Maxine Jones. She passed away a few years ago, but she was always sooooo full of spunk and ornery! And the name could not fit my little boy any better - he reminds me of her ALOT!!

*Every Wednesday morning after I drop Max off in Loogootee at my mother-in-laws I HAVE to go thru McDonald's drive thru and get a sweet ice tea with extra ice!! I drink it all day (it lasts all day cause I am a sipper:)!!

*My favorite thing to do to relax is soak in a steaming hot bath with a good book - I love to read and do it everytime I get a chance!!

Ok - I think just about everyone has been tagged, so I will just leave it at that:)!! Hang in there everyone - only two more work days until the weekend!!

Hey abby! I came across your blog, and it sounds like you are staying strong in your hard times, and we can thank God for all his blessings to allow us to stay strong! I read that about Max's name. My aunt is Lisa, Erics wife...and I always hear about Max from Ashley & Dylan! I think they were born around the same day b/c I remember Lisa talking about your pregnancy when I was pregnant....Dru's birthday is Nov.9 coming up real soon! I just wanted to let you know that even when we think we can't handle the stress, always remember God will never give us anything we can't handle. I have dealt with my husband and alcohol before we got married....and there were times I just thought I was going to break down...It's not fun with the whole jail/court scene...but you know whats amazing is how much he has changed and by the grace of God he is a strong Christian and has the biggest heart of anyone I know...hes a great husband and a terrific Daddy! So even though we get down sometimes just keep your head up and keep praying!

Abby- Have you ever read the book Purpose Driven Life, by Rick Warren? I read it when I was pregnant w/ Brycen, and I'm reading it again now... yesterday as I was reading it I came across a part in the book that made me think of you! (no, i'm not some weirdo, but I've been praying for you a ton, so it was kind of natural!). I was really upset when you were so upset about your mtg. w/ Gil and how you felt like you being made out to be the bad one or whatever. Well I came across this part in the book, I was going to bring it w/ me today so I could type it out word for word, but I forgot (baby brain!!). Anyway, it basically said that God DOES call us to FORGIVE whoever has hurt us or done us wrong, but he does not require us to trust them when we forgive them. They have to earn that trust back and prove themselves. That really made me think of you, for obvious reasons. Maybe you already had thought about this, but I wanted to share it with you just in case it might help a little. It's on day 17 or 18 of the Purpose Driven Life, you could probably look it up online if you wanted. It stuck out at me so much I thought about trying to get ahold of you somehow yesterday to tell you that and to pray w/ you, but I didn't want to come across as a freak!! :)

Abbie...
this is scary...we are so much alike. Sleeping with my kids is my favorite thing to do...my husband gets mad cause he usually gets kicked out of bed so we 3 can sleep together (me, Ave, and Jacob)
Pancakes with peanut butter is my all time favorite...we used to have to take peanut butter on vacation with us so I could have pancakes...no restaurants had it.
Also, I am totally hooked on Mcdonald's sweet tea...only I have to have one at least daily...I cannot hardly go for a day without it...especially since they are only 1.07!

Don't let anyone every tell you not to sleep with your kiddos! They are only young ONCE! I think Hunter slept with me until she was 5! lol Joe didn't understand it, until Miss Alli Jo (Daddy's girl) asked if she can "sweep wif daddy" hahaha!! Of course there are some nights we like to have alone...but we enjoy having the kids fall asleep with us :)

Yummo! Pancakes with Pnut butter and syrup that is so my favorite also. Then well Austin slept with me til he was almost 6... Yeah when Jesse came into our lives that was just part of it and he thought I was nuts, but now Hailee Brooke wiggled her way into bed. Now it just isn't the same unless she is in there to cuddle with her daddy. LOL. Not hooked on McD sweet tea, but I love my own Sweet Tea. It is the best. I haven't tried McD's yet. LOL. Miss ya like crazy. Love ya girlie.
